The Mystery Break In!

A Year 2 Mystery!

On Monday,  we walked into our classrooms and we were shocked! There was a terrible mess everywhere. The tables were covered in banana peels and colourful leaves were scattered all over the floor. Our hearts raced as we noticed strange branches all over the tables and floor. It felt exciting and a little scary at the same time. What could have caused such a disaster? As we looked around, we could hardly believe our eyes! What a strange start to the week!

We walked around the classrooms and discovered something completely unexpected! Paw prints led from the window into the classroom. Everyone gathered around to investigate. “Look at these messy paw prints!” someone shouted. We brainstormed ideas about what might have happened. We made links between our new topic and the clues around the classroom.

We now think an orangutan may have made the mess because our new topic is Monkey Magic. Perhaps it was trying to tell us something about its home in the jungle. We looked around and wondered why the orangutan hadn’t returned to our class since, but it must be hiding somewhere in the school. Maybe it escaped into the attic or the basement!

This mystery has made us excited about learning more about orangutans and their lives. We can’t wait to find out more about this amazing animal!

We will make sure to keep you updated!
